Nicola Robins
Partner

Nicola partners with teams and leaders in support of sustainable and just transitions. She has spent 25+ years working in 15 countries, across most sectors, with a focus on listed companies in emerging markets. With a base in Natural Science and African Economic History, her professional training includes Impact Assessment (UCT, 1990) and Industrial Ecology (Yale School of the Environment, 1994). She has done stints as a research assistant (UCT Environmental Evaluation Unit) and corporate employee (Nissan SA). Increasing awareness of sustainability’s failure in the face of uncertainty led her to study and apply the complexity-based methods of The Cynefin Company and Southern Africa’s Ngoma Traditions. Her approach is unorthodox, often adaptive, highly pragmatic and trackable. She lives in Cape Town, a short walk from the edge of the Great African Seaforest.
