Jonathon Hanks appointed to convene global multi-stakeholder drafting team on social responsibility

Incite Sustainability founding partner, Jonathon Hanks, has been appointed to convene an international team responsible for drafting the International Organisation for Standardisation’s (ISO) global standard on social responsibility (ISO 26000).

Hanks is convening these negotiations in the closing stages of the process and is responsible for ensuring delivery of a global standard that is acceptable to all stakeholder groups. Over 400 experts and observers from 80 countries are contributing to the process.

ISO 26000 will cover issues relating to sustainable development, including: human rights, labour practices, environmental management, climate change, organisational governance and community development. The standard will seek to provide guidance to all types of organisations, in both the public and private sectors. It is not a management system standard and is not intended for certification.
