The Foschini Group’s 2010 Annual Report was amongst the first efforts in South Africa to produce an Integrated Report along the lines anticipated in the King III Discussion Paper on Integrated Reporting. The Annual Report includes a considered review of the implications of societal issues for the company’s core value drivers, outlines the efforts being taken to provide for sustainability issues in the Group’s overall strategy, and integrates its review of its sustainability performance on material issues within its general performance review. The report reviews the sustainability performance of the Provincial Government, both in terms of carrying out its core policy and legislative functions, as well as in the nature of its internal organisational activities. The report also provides a broad perspective on the environmental and social status of the Western Cape as a geographic and economic region, as evaluated in terms of its Ecological Footprint and the United Nations Human Development Index. (Download PDF, 3.76 Mb)

Incite assisted Bidvest over three consecutive years with some of their first sustainability reports. As a decentralised, multi-faceted and geographically diverse business, it is a challenge to provide a concise yet sufficiently comprehensive report. To meet this challenge their 2007 report is structured so that the introductory chapters provide an overview of sustainability issues at Group level, while the divisional reviews give more detailed information. The reviews focus on those business units and the risks and opportunities that are deemed to be most material. (Download PDF, 1.41MB)
