If things are going to stay the same around here, things are going to have to change. - Guiseppe Di Lampedusa
Lauren’s academic background in economics and politics has allowed her to develop her interest in socio-economic development. What interests her most are the links between politics, economics and society. This lead her to pursue interests in systems and systems thinking.
After a year in South Korea, Lauren returned to Cape Town to write her MA thesis which focused on complexity theory (systems thinking), understanding and ethics. During this time, she worked as a consultant and volunteer researcher. She also attended colloquiums and worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Studies in Complexity, and continues her association with the Centre while at Incite.
Lauren works as a consultant at Incite involved in sustainability strategy, reporting and advocacy work. She continues to blog her ideas on sustainability, difference and complexity.
