Teaching at USB Centre for Corporate Governance in Africa (20-25 June, 2016)

Jonathon is at the University of Stellenbosch Business School (Centre for Corporate Governance in Africa) this week, convening the postgraduate course on ‘Sustainable Enterprise week (20-25 June, 2016).  The course will review the systemic interrelationship between business and the broader societal context and identify examples of business leadership in responding to societal issues. It reviews what ‘sustainable development’ means in practice for business, and considers its relationship with concepts such as corporate social investment (CSI), corporate social responsibility (CSR) and shared value. Students will evaluate the changing nature of corporate accountability and assess recent developments in corporate reporting practice, and stakeholder engagement, as well as identify the practical implications of developing and implementing a strategic response to societal challenges.
